If you have any questions, comments or suggestions to put to the committee please email the chairperson@walkingtonpreschool.org.
Training
Membership of the Early Years Alliance and contact with East Riding of Yorkshire Council ensures that we are constantly in touch with new thinking in the field of child education and care. On-going training and information sessions are available for both staff and parents.
Fees
Funded hours are available for eligible children - up to 30 hrs for 3 and 4 year olds and 15 hours for 2 year olds. Please contact the Pre-School directly to discuss the current fee structure. Fees are payable at the beginning of each half-term.
Curriculum
Within the group all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. - Fun and friendship with children and other adults

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
We aim to provide equality of opportunity for all members of our group, and this includes children with special educational needs and disabilities. We are experienced in working in close liaison with professionals across the range of special needs and disabilities. We operate in accordance with the government’s Code of Practice on special educational needs and disabilities. In line with the 'East Riding Local Offer' we have our settings own 'local offer' which provides information to parents /carers about the support that Walkington Pre School can offer if you have a child who has / is identified with special educational needs and / or disabilities of any kind.
Admissions and Waiting List
We try to offer children a place when they are two and a half but there is usually a high demand on places and so is not always possible. There may not be spaces in every session on every day.
We aim to admit children in order of date of birth and children are placed on the waiting list for the half term that they are eligible to start. However, this means that any older children joining the waiting list at a later date may be offered a place first.
You can put your child's name down on the waiting list for a place at any time before you would wish them to start. If you would like to put your child's name on the waiting list, please email Preschool with your child's full name and date of birth and current address, as well as telephone and email contact details.
We will contact parents by telephone to arrange admission. If you have any queries about when a place may be available, please telephone us on 01482 869101.
Parental Involvement
As well as getting involved in preschool events, we have always welcomed parents and grandparents who wish to help out occasionally during Pre-School sessions. Due to the current situation re COVID-19 we are unable to invite others into the setting but will resume this as soon as we are able.
Recruitment
Safeguarding children is always a priority and all staff / committee members must be DBS checked. We are proud of the high ratio of adults to children in our group. This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child. From time to time we have recruitment needs and welcome enquiries from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who think they can help maintain our high standards.
If you would like to submit your CV we would be happy receive it. Please give us your written permission to hold your personal details, which we will of course keep in strictest confidence. For the correct recruitment correspondence address please contact the Pre-School on 01482 869101 or 07722 561116.
