Management

Walkington Pre-School is run by an elected committee of unpaid volunteers. This ensures that major decisions are in the hands of the parents who use the group. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions to put to the committee please email the chairperson@walkingtonpreschool.org.

Training

Membership of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and contact with East Riding of Yorkshire Council ensures that we are constantly in touch with new thinking in the field of child education and care. On-going training and information sessions are available for both staff and parents.

Fees

Please contact the Pre-School directly to discuss the current fee structure. Fees are payable at the beginning of each half-term.

Curriculum

Within the group all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. By means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input, we offer a curriculum which enables children to progress towards the early learning goals throughout the Foundation Stage. It prepares them for the National Curriculum which begins in Year 1 at Primary School.

Areas of concentration are:

  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Mathematics
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Physical Development
